GZtales: Up Coming Parents ch.2

Adin spent most of her time asleep in bed or having morning sickness. Papyrus took care of her making sure she was alright and the baby was fine. A lot of the time he was rubbing her back. She was only five weeks in her pregnancy.

“Papyrus…it’s alright.” She said as she was dozing mostly.  He smiled at her till he  heard their doorbell. He wondered if that was Sans just making sure he was alright and needed help or something. He let Adin sleep for a bit as he went to the door, He open it to find Alphys and Undyne there at his doorstep.

“Do you two need something?” He ask getting a feeling there was a reason Alphys was here. He still felt bad about asking Alphys to do those tests on Adin.  In Alphys’ case she had no choice at the time since she was the royal scientist at the time.  “Well I…I-I thought you two might want to go to my  place since I have lab up here and well..”

He could see it on her face. They weren’t sure if the baby would be born a monster of human. This was the first time for them, it’s not like there were any monster couple or human couple.

Magic would be building inside of Adin,  if was a monster that means magic would needed to help with it’s birth. “Don’t you think it’s a little too soon to think about that?” He said. Undyne patted Alphys’ head as she look at her friend.

“She got worried since this is the first  kid you two are having.” Undyne said “Plus your brother had said something about you fainting?” Papyrus just sigh since he was never going to live that down now.

“She’s only five weeks girls.” Papyrus said as he ask them if they wanted to something to drink. They asked if he still needed some help with unpacking.

He just said no since Adin was asleep. Undyne noticed there were a few more boxes to unpack and there was a few more chairs and tables to put together. “Papyrus, how many boxes do you two need to unpack?” She ask as Papyrus.

“Well it mostly putting together furniture.” He said looking at some of the boxes that were filled with dishes and clothes along with other things. Undyne offer to help while Alphys was busy doing something on her laptop.

The two didn’t take notice of this while they were working. Adin had woken up as she headed to the bathroom.  Alphys was creating some pages for a journal for Adin and Papyrus. She thought since they wouldn’t know what gender it was or if would be human or monster? It was a lot questions for them but she thought would look into different between humans and monsters pregnancy.

“How are you feeling my love?” Papyrus asked her kissing her for forehead. Adin smiled as she kissed him back. “I’m fine, really.” He couldn’t help but worry, he was going to be a father, but he was scared if he would hurt the child still. The guilt was still haunting him, Adin held his hand as she kissed him.

Undyne stare at them for a little as she could still see that murderess captain and his servant holding or hurting her. She could see how Adin’ older sister giving up her life and destroying her soul. She seem to worry about them but she knew they were happy. She went over to the couple as she look at Adin for a moment.

“So…what are you going to do when the kid comes?” She ask “I mean where will it stay?” Adin and Papyrus had an extra room that they would turn into a guest room, but there was a few rooms they didn’t know what to do with? They could turn into a room for their child.

“Well…we can worry about that later to make sure we know the gender.” Adin said to her as if she read Papyrus’ mind there. “Well, I was looking about about human pregnancy.” Alphys said to them. “That you are due to for…what did you call them?” Adin realize she was right. But it was a little too soon for that?

So far, there hasn’t been any trouble, so that good. “Alphys it’s okay, when comes to human babies, it takes a little longer, I don’t know how monster babi-” Papyrus cover her mouth as he started blushing. “Can we not worry about this…” He asked since he was still having thoughts about being a dad himself.

Undyne and Ahlpys stop since Papyrus was getting nervous or maybe he was the only male here. Adin just smiled  as she kiss him.  “It’s alright.” She said to him as he held her close to him. Undyne and Alphys soon left as Alphys gave Adin her address to her lab. Adin let out a yawn as Papyrus pick her up. She blush as her put her arms around him.

“I’m alright, you don’t have to worry.” She said. “I know…I’m just scared if I will end up like my father did with me and Sans.” He said. Adin just lean her head against his chest.

“Believe me…I know how you feel.” she said since her mother had abused her and Adora, she only still child then but she knew how it affected Adora, still she was scared and excited but mostly scared.

Papyrus and Adin made an appointment to have an ultrasound just to make sure everything was okay.  It was mostly Papyrus’ idea to do this. It still worried him, just how the outcome would be.

There was a client that was working with humans and monsters who were having children. Adin was now 8 weeks in but she did gain a little weight, which was normal. She had some odd dreams here and there but she was mostly asleep or she spend most of her time near a toilet or trash can. Adin leaned against papyrus as they waited.

He look around to see all the different parents that had come in, some of the mothers were humans mostly, there was monster as well, for him, Adin and him were the only couple who had no idea what their own child would be. “Well, if isn’t the captain.” A familiar voice called out to him as he saw two certain dogs near by.  It was Dogamy and Dogaressa.

It was surprising to see them here for him, he knew those two were a couple, but didn’t think he would find them here. “Just Papyrus now.” He said to them. Adin happen to see them as she smiled at them.  Neither one was expecting to see them here, but Papyrus mostly.

“What brings you two here?” Dogamy ask them as a sudden chill went down Adin’s back. Dogaressa gave a warm smiled to her letting her know that they weren’t going to hurt her or anything.

“Are you having a child too?” She asked noticing Adin’s stomach a little. There was a bit of bump, it was mostly a little bump, not noticeable enought, but Adin’s body was showing a little of a sign.

It was strange to see Dogaressa here, since she was a dog monster she would show signs like any other dog or in this case dog monster would. “I guess Papyrus hasn’t told about how monsters give  birth?” She asked her while Papyrus was talking with Dogamy.

Adin had a feeling that monster’s birth was different and she would find out sooner or later. “Well, I heard that for skeleton monster takes a lot of magic for them. It takes a lot out of both the mother and baby, I think that’s why skeleton monsters are so rare now these days.”

Adin wasn’t a monster and she had no magic in her, but her soul was getting stronger since her time in the underground, it scared her a little, since they had no idea how the child will come out as. Dogaressa placed a paw on her letting her know it’s alright no matter the outcome.

“I know you two will have a wonderful child, no matter what it is. But, I think your determination will replace that magic or your determination turn into magic.” She smiled.  

Adin had learned from Toriel that there was a time that both races relay on each other. If that Dogaressa meant then it made a little more sense to her. A nurse called the dog couple back as Dogareesa gave her a smile seeing this Adin was much better than the Adin she saw in the underground.

Papyrus sat down feeling worn out, sometimes talking with Dogamy was like talking to the hyper dog monsters when he had train rookies.  Adin place a hand on his bonely hand letting him know it was alright.

Soon it was their turn.  The nurse was a bunny monster as the doctor was human.  The doctor took Adin’s heights and weight, Papyrus watched them carefully making sure they were not harming her in any way.

Most doctors didn’t want the father to come back till they showed an ultrasound to them. Since Papyrus was the royal guard captain it still bother him that he had let others hurt her as well. it still haunted him to this day. The doctor got a bottle of gel warning her it will be cold when it hit her skin. Adin felt a chill going down her back as papyrus got worried all of a sudden.

“It’s okay Papyrus, it’s just cold like she said.” Papyrus relax a little as the doctor started up the machine to see the their baby inside Adin’s belly. “Okay Mom and Dad, let see how the baby is doing.” On the monitor it was gray and white till the doctor came across a black dot that was the size of a raspberry. Adin smiled as a giggle came out.

Papyrus notice it too till he realize that was his child. It was hard to tell if it was monster or human, but it was their. “Well, it looks everything is fine, nothing wrong.” The doctor said as the bunny nurse nodded in agreement, it was suggest that Adin should come back in 12 weeks.  The doctor print out the picture and circle the dot showing where their child was in the ultrasound.

Papyrus took a deep breath and release it, nothing to worry about so far. Adin let out a yawn as she held the picture since it was the first picture of their child.Papyrus help Adin into his car which was a gift from Mettaton or more of a sorry towards Adin after on his show. Adin lean back in the car set as Papyrus kissed her.

“Sorry, I was scared.” He said.

“What was Dogamy said?” She ask  since he was more relax now. “He was giving me advice.” He said “What I would..expect.” He said feeling embarrassed now. “It’s okay you know, you’re not going to hurt me.”  She said to him letting out yawn. Papyrus kissed her against her forehead.

She was right about this, he wasn’t going to hurt her.  He told her to sleep a little till they got home and he’ll make sure no one bothers her as much as he can. Adin closed her eyes a little as Papyrus still felt so much regret inside of him still. He could see the images of him just breaking her down over and over, saying these lies to her that he made her believe there were truth to her.

He loved her, he loved her more than anything, but having this child seem to scare him. What if did same, what if he made them hate him.  He needed to get Adin home, she needed rest and so did he.

Papyrus carried Adin to their room as he place her on the bed laying next her. He touch her stomach worrying about her and his child. He could see how his own father, rising him and Sans. He was stressing himself out, the child wasn’t here yet but it still worry him. He shouldn’t stress, right now he needed to be there or Adin right now. He held her closer to him as fell asleep beside her.
